My (hometown) hockey team just won game 7 in sudden death on home turf. Epic ending to a really fun play off. The gold is finally home after 7 years

Blasting CCR and AC/DC at the moment.

Wow, great album! It's been a long time since I've listened to this one - Green River is typically my go-to Creedence album.

    Really quite a remarkable recording

What is it, you may ask?

Have no idea except it is electric without words and the latest in multiple chapters from Martin Brandlmayr, Martin Siewert & Josh Norman

Drums, guitars, bass, electronics all mixed and processed.

    Plus it *sounds* incredible

On thrill jockey records out of Chicago

Gerry Hemingway Quintet: Waltzes, Two Steps and Other Matters of the Heart

Probably the worst album title I know of for such a great (although unknown) album and band

    Hemingway on drums
Michael Moore: alto saxophone and clarinets
    Wolter Wierbos: trombone
    Ernst Reijseger: cello
    Mark Dresser: bass

Recorded at Berlin Jazz Festival on November 2, 1996 & in Stockholm on November 4, 1996

My favorite jazz band of the past 30 years. This is one of about 6-7 great albums from the late 80's through this one.

I cannot tell you what the track "Toombow" from the above Hemingway album means to me. There is a later (98 or so) quartet version but this one and the version I saw live by the later quartet is the closest I've heard any modern jazz ensemble come to Ellington.

That memory was brutal when I lost music circa 2003.

When I got music and life back, I think of that memory when I play this song.

Black Sabbath is as close to Heavy Metal as I can bare to get
I've absolutely loved this album since I listened to it for the first time some 25 years ago (I've just realized I'm going old!). It's powerful, but also delicate and sophisticated, the arrangements are very precise and well-developed. Perfect! (And regarding lyrics it's maybe the best Sabbath album).
