There is a credit saying "filmed in Washington State" but they did much of the filming in LA as well as Vegas and other desert locations.
The only three things I've been able to identify as local are the opening shot over Snoqualmie Falls, one shot of the Great Northern, and the police station exterior. The rest.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Spoiler It just hit me; the scenes filmed in B&W where Cooper is talking to the Tree Giant, is the same place where Cooper meets the two different women, the room where he enters the electric socket -- Lynch gives this away in the very first shot in episode 1. Also, did anyone notice the blue rose in the vase on the table, just before he enters the electric socket?
Im going to assume that something like 90% of the audience for this is streaming it. I know dozens of people that are salivating over this, and not a single one has a cable subscription.
The effects remind me of Eraserhead. The talking testicle in the tree is a direct decedent of that film's baby and the spaceship in the third episode brought to mind early Lynch. They could afford to do better, but I'm pretty sure they look the way they were intended to look.
Exactly. Although I did like the Brando-Son character. He seemed to exhibit the classic Lynch quirk whereas Lucy and Andy were more slapstick (especially when Lucy fell off the chair).
Yeah...I doubt many fans of this show are in a Nielsen Houshold. Between Hulu, Amazon and Showtime Anytime, there were a lot of ways for people to buy into a streaming subscription for 4 months, and I don't think any of that is calculated into any ratings system. At least not very quickly. I also know quite a few people that are waiting to binge the whole season at once...and try to stay away from spoilers all summer. Good luck to them.
I didn't love their segments in the original series. I feel that they are better integrated into this season's overall vibe, so far at least.
I finished up the four episodes and enjoyed them. I can't wait for the real Coop to get back to Twin Peaks.
Why would talking to someone on a cell phone freak Lucy out after all those years of talking to sheriffs and deputies on police radios?
I tell ya, when I watched all the episodes in a row, I was on board for that wild Twin Peaks ride. I'm loving it!
Thanks for that. I can definitely see they used the shape of the actor's head as a reference for the "testicle" head.
