(CD Vee-Jay Koch KOC CD-8550) .... recorded December 1959/February 1960 ..... relying on the profound virtues of the Miles Davis Rhythm Section headed by Wynton Kelly (and rightly so !) both horns shine brightly and the sharp toned Frank Strozier (as) melts exceptionally well with the floating solo work of Booker Little (tp) .... furthermore a number of high quality bonus tracks makes this excellent sounding CD release from 2000 easily a winner ....
I have a japanes reissue LP but was always unsatisfied with the sound. I should try this KOCH CD; Gens Paul did a wonderful mastering job on these.

I'll keep a look out for it in the shop in town. I never noticed it come through in the last while since but it hasn't exactly been on my radar. I did see last week that there was a copy of Bobbi's Flute In, but it was a later reissue not on the Blue Note label.
On the fly so I only have a second but wanted to share this. I have no trouble kvetching about things when they are bad, but I'm just as happy to lavish praise when things are correct....or remedied to a high degree of satisfaction. I emailed Mosaic yesterday about this set and this morning received this: Hi Ty All I have to say is “Yikes” ! Certainly not great quality control at the manufacturers! I will check a brand new set and get it out to you today. By the way, you can just toss the defective Lps. No need to return. Best Scott Wenzel Here's to Mosaic!
See my first sentence. The ORG Music sleeves leave a bit to be desired, sort of similar in quality to the Pure Pleasure packaging. However, the ORGm titles are STILL $30 whereas most everyone else has raised their prices $5 to ~$35. Although I'd pay an extra fin if they would up their quality to the standard of the others. (AP, MM, ORG etc)
