Did you get the same email which included no less than four variations of "BUY NOW" buttons? Talk about a hard sell.

Your post came up in my search...a search for an answer as to why is my vinyl copy SO valuable and rare ? I honestly don't know. Only a limited number pressed ???

    I'm assuming so, yes.
For me, it's just one of my all time favorite Neil records and I can't wait to be able to buy an affordable copy.

Well, there were no NY HDCDs since Psychedelic Pill so I guess these are going to be standard CDs, likely from the same transfers as hi-res versions.

Better some delay than half-baked remasters.

I am sure these will be HDCD since the remasters were done like 10 years ago by Neil's ranch team, John Nowland and Tim Mulligan, though Chris Bellman handled the vinyl master. I am pretty sure Neil's ranch team finished all of Neil's archival work before they split ways in 2015. There are a lot of archival releases planned for the future but Neil just needs to give the green light! I thought Neil's films "Solo Trans" and "Muddy Track" would get released on DVD this year.

HDCD is dead. I'd be very surprised to see these released in this format. Doesn't matter what they did ten years ago. Dithering down 20-bit HDCD to 16-bit should give superior SQ (compared to non-decoded HDCD) on any system not capable of decoding HDCD.

Individual 8.5-12 vinyl release date: August 18th.

  16. Going by Young's recent history with the CD, they will be HDCD encoded. I hope each album comes with it's own booklet and not one booklet that covers all albums in the box set.

i hope they're in jewel cases with matching spines to the rest of the series. the vinyl art for vols 5-12.5 pale in comparison to 1-4.

Does it? Looks great to me. Only difference is thinner (but still solid) sleeves. Fine by me, as 1-4 sleeves were too thick.

Bluenote Cafe wasn't in HDCD was it? Or Le Noise. Is the recent Decade reissue HDCD-encoded?
