Just finished up watching the entire series (1-8) on Netflix. I watched the show a bit when it was first broadcast, but lost track of it. I really think this is one of the funniest and smartest comedies ever put on television. I hate that NBC treated the show like a red-headed stepchild. Would just like to hear other's opinions on the show.
I will completely second that. I watched every episode (all eight years) when it first aired, and to this day I feel it was one of the best written, acted and most hilarious shows in the history of television. And thanks for the heads up about Netflix. I didn't know it was on there, so I'll be starting to binge watch it tomorrow. And Sarah Chalke got more hot every year it was on. Here she is from one of my favorite episodes......
Loved Sarah Chalke....great comedic timing and she has nice.....timing. ;-) Also loved seeing Colin Hay pop up in the show from time to time.
And let's not forget Ted's four member accapella singing group "The Blanks". You never knew when they would pop up, and truth be told, they were REALLY good. Here's a six minute compilation of just some of their songs, including their great rendition of "Over The Rainbow". There's many others on youtube...
One of my fave sitcoms, and one of the only shows I have the complete run of on DVD. Aside from the sharp humour and strong chemistry among the cast members, it was one of the few sitcoms that could get serious or sappy without getting too preachy or cloying (at least for my taste). Heck, I think you gotta give it up for the show just for "Guy Love".
Fun Fact: they were a real, gigging acapella group that the guy who played Ted was a member of on the side.
Right you are, and they've put out two CD's. Here's their official Website: http://www.theblankswebsite.com/
This was the first episode of Scrubs I ever saw. From then on I made sure to DVR it so I could catch all the shows when I could.
I still watch this show from time to time and it never disappoints. It's just funny without being pretentious which I find many comedies tend to gravitate towards.
Such a great show. Except for the upcoming marathon, does CC ever air this anymore? Or anyone else? About time for me to start a DVD rewatch--it's been awhile...
IIRC Scrubs was captured on film, so it could be released on 4K Blu-ray (maybe it wasn't filmed, but taped). Whether it would look good or not, obviously remains to be seen. I'd still get the Blu-rays, if they exist. Agreed that Blonde Doctor was hot on the show; Carla had some hotness as well. Loved Laverne's sassiness. A small town theatre west of here was able to convert to digital projection because of a sizable donation from Zach Braff.
Small correction for me: Super 16mm film (1.78). You could technically rescan all the negatives and redo it for 4K, but I can think of about 3000 previous 35mm TV shows that probably deserve a 4K redo first.
And if you like Dr. Cox (don't we all), John McGinley's new series "Stan Against Evil" is great AND hilarious, and is coming back for another season. A great cast. Imagine Dr. Cox as a crusty old man now, and you'll get the idea.......
I love Scrubs, one of my favorite sitcoms. I have the whole series on dvd. I should bring them out and watch it soon since I can never find Scrubs on rerun anywhere anymore.
