Just got diagnosed with prostrate cancer (man I hate that word) and had some scans done yesterday to see if it's spread. Keeping my fingers crossed. Have to start radiation treatments 5 days a week for 6 to 8 weeks. Glad you are doing better. This forum and thread are nice distractions.

  2. Stay Strong Lonesurf- I've been battling myself over the last several years. I just had four procedures earlier this month (yes, four! Four days in a row) due to radiation complications. I'm 6' 0" 150 lbs at the moment, so I'm with you! I'm young, so I've managed to push through 7 operations in 2.5 years... attitude, family support and music are all healers. Communities like this really do help as well. Best of luck with your remaining treatments. Stay strong!
I'm looking forward to jumping back on the SHF train with Unmasked!

Ej & Haggis, you are exactly right, stay strong and keep moving forward.
24volt, what the doctors can do now is amazing. Have faith.

    Let's get Unmasked!

Man, I like the song, but Shandi is a tough sell as a lead single for a new album to your average teenage Kiss fan.

    SAVE YOUR LOVE
Man, there seems to be quite a bit of love for this one but I'm not feelin' it.
The chorus is a giant iceberg that sends this one to the depths.
It's one saving grace is Ace has a bit of an extended noodle halfway through.
Sorry Spaceman, not a patch on Hard Times ...... mediocre.

Dynasty is done ! ...... and I gotta say, overall it holds up quite nicely under some pretty close scrutiny.

I never realized the guy in the last panel was the writer. One thing I also never noticed is Gene and Ace are on the "wrong" sides of the stage. I figure Gene would've caught that.

I didn't notice this until someone said it recently about not slamming others opinions; we've all been playing nice here. This is a much nicer internet experience than usual. Thank you everyone!

Maybe up until X-Factor so we can trash the HELL out of it. I just can't get into Maiden past 92. Especially with Harris' broken ears and **** production. He truly ruined certain albums.

You will be missed; I love reading your posts when you break down the music theoretically. Good luck, sir.

    Fascinating.
And on a scale of 1-11, how would you rate VXI?

We don't need to turn this into a Maiden thread, but *when* that ABA or Song By Song happens, I will have a lot to say, from Soundhouse Tapes to Empire of the Clouds. My all time favorite band.

I feel that Final Frontier is a stronger album, but Empire of the Clouds is one of the best things they've ever done.

...and to bring this back to the topic at hand, Maiden opened for KISS on the European Unmasked tour in 1980!

There is a KISS connection: Maiden opened for KISS on the European leg of the 1980 Unmasked tour. It's funny to watch their Early Years DVD because they talk about that tour and with their accents, KISS comes out as "Keess."
