As I get older so does Bobby!

I've been listening to bits of "Triplicate" (6 or 7 songs per night randomly in the late evening) since it came out.

I can't say exactly why, but I'm somewhat transfixed by this album (the more I play it, the more I love it)

I don't take for granted that Bob is still with us and he'll be here in July. I'll be there as I never miss him when he's here.

I cherish the time we have left with him.

Can someone post a big image of that "Freewheelin'" promo with the rare songs intact?

By now, a year and a half later, everyone has had time to get know the 1965 concerts from Sony / Columbia's mp3 download that came with the Limited Edition 18- disc THE CUTTING EDGE. Share your thoughts on the tour. Take the poll:

Great little book. I don't expect many of these rants to appear on the next bootleg series although some are quite funny without straying into psycho/wacko territory.

Have been playing my favorite Dylan LP "Blood On The Tracks" continuously, what a great record from beginning to end. Happy belated birthday Bob!
By the way I love seeing all the rare and interesting collectables.

Philly always throws a Dylan party with 40 different local artists playing forty different tunes.

Bob Dylan ~ "Groom Still Waiting At The Altar"
    Capitol Records U.S. 10"
This rare authentic accompanying one-sided acetate of the song "Groom..." , again pressed by Capitol .. the acetate was made on August 27, 1981. Date is nearly a full three months after the
original acetates for the "Shot Of Love" album... interestingly, "Groom..." was indeed added to
    later additions to the album.

A slight typo above, as I was rushing to take and post photos, then write the information...
While the song is actually called: "The Groom's Still Waiting At The Altar" it is slightly different
on the earliest acetate of 8/27/81. Also of interest, the song was added to later released editions
of "Shot Of Love" as the first track on Side Two.
The explanation on why Capitol Records manufactured these acetates for this particular Dylan album ..
it was a normal practice from time to time, to help out on the others behalf.

    It's mind-blowing, alright.
Thanks for sharing it with us, Bruce Mulle.
Be sure to remember me in your will.

Well, it's Saturday and I'm still celebrating Dylan's 76th by studying his 1965 tour of England for some in-depth posts I intend to write.

Who hasn't done my poll yet:

    get in there, people.

    Bob Dylan ~ "Planet Waves"
Island Records U.K. original, and authentic Gold Record Award.
Presented to: Asylum Records U.K. for more than GBP 75,000
in sales .. c., 1974. Please excuse glare, best I could do...
Many fake R.I.A.A. awards flood U.S. market, this is an authentic BPI U.K. award.

Yep, oddly enough my only authentic Dylan award is the Asylum/Island award .. not a CBS UK release.

Don't have anything "vintage", but there also aren't too many folks with both of these sets...

Bob Dylan ~ "High School Yearbooks"

The middle 1958 black "Hematite" book is a special one...
I purchased this from a man who lives in Hibbing.
A super cool guy, who went well beyond the typical seller.
He was a part owner of "Zimmy's" before selling his share.
He is close friends with the current owners of the Zimmerman
home, he had 12 copies in his collection, and this was the last
one he was selling- He had this book placed in Bob's bedroom for
a full week. The book was originally signed in '58 by Leroy Hoekstra,
Dylan's friend, and drummer in "The Golden Chords". That was the
band that performed live on the stage at the famous Hibbing High auditorium.
He wrote a full page and a half letter of provenance for me... and even invited
me if ever in Hibbing to contact him, and he would bring me directly to meet
the owner, and tour the home. Never made it unfortunately.

Very nice ones too Mr. J... think only 1000 or less were made.
They were a bugger to get also, sold out quickly and were only available
in three countries if I recall. Had to make a couple calls to GE. on them.
