Mr. Kath was still among the living - and still with the group - at the time of "If You Leave Me Now." However, it could be argued that it prefigured the direction they would take after he killed himself . . .

Cool list. Picked almost all of them. A great time for pop singles.

Talk about bringing back memories,so many neat songs for the year.

The Bicentennial, the freedom train touring the country, just an awesome year.

Not the strongest year or list, but the best there really are very good and some classics.

Four Seasons and Bellamy Brothers are really up songs, whilst Chicago and Diana's offerings are beautiful.

A big 10/4 for C.W. mercy sakes alive, looks like we've got us, a hit single.

With Kiki and Elton, I always wonder who should be singing the man's lines. :D It didn't stop me from buying it.

Also like the two "rip off" songs. It being so hard to better the riffs to All Right Now, and Superstition; you simply use them.

Elton and Kiki were number one for 6 weeks (in the U.K.) in that long hot summer of 1976. I bought it as soon as it came out, but what with playing it to death myself plus hearing it nonstop on Radio 1, I was sick to the back teeth of it when it finally fell off the top spot.:D

Welcome Back should be getting more votes. It is a great song as not only did it fit well with the TV show, but it also fit well with John Sebastian being the one to sing it.
