I forgot to mention Toshi Ichiyanagi's massive Opera "From The Works Of Tadanori Yokoo" recorded in 1969. The centerpiece being the Flowers (pre-Flower Travellin Band) 20 mintue pysch-freakout "I'm Dead"

There are some great, catchy anime themes. I REALLY love Hikaru Utada's ending song for the Evangelion reboot. Awesome stuff:

Think: Acid Mothers Temple, but more organized and elegant.

Add violin. Busy percussion. Dance/trance atmospherics. Occasional players from AMT and/or Boredoms.

2 of my favorite bands are Loudness who have been mentioned already and Anthem who have just released their 17th album "Engraved" which is utterly brilliant.

 

Somewhat long, but I love this. "Animated music video created by Studio Ghibli for the song "On Your Mark" by the Japanese rock duo Chage & Aska."

 

It's a shame that's not the actual film Ghibli made for the track though, as it's a great little short.

 

Found the original, edited it in, but now I don't know if it works.

I may need some help!
