Klipsch Heritage line is the best bang for the buck i've come across yet. And i'm happily staying put.

For now my favorites are the Heresy's with a good sub. I picked up a used Sunfire MKII and then had Frank at [email protected] do a rebuild. Just got it back and it sounds fantastic! I have it paired with a pair of Klipsch Heresy 1's I recapped and installed new tweeters from www.ctitesspeakers.com. All in for less than a grand. This winter i plan to build a set of Cornscala's.

There are a pair of Belles available in my area that I can probably get for about $1K. Seller is moving and seems motivated. Opinions?

(Currently using JBL 4425's in my main listening room).

Assuming that they are in decent condition, Absolutely... Belles are amazing... And for $1,000? Absolutely. There is this kooky man who lives by me (he actually got banned from this forum last week) and he has a pair of Belles that I listen to about once a week... I believe he even got his Belles after hearing my Cornwalls. Anywho... it makes music with instruments in it sound really good

Well, I might just have to pick Klipschorns although the driving electronics and the space they are loaded into are critical for top performance.

Even though large Heritage Klipsch speakers can be had used at really good prices
As I stated above IMHO the driving system is very critical and could cost many $$$and has to be accounted for. In you're system's case you should be ahead of the game and its worth taking a shot.

To BIGGER DAVE; I am the kooky man monkey boy refers too. I have a pair of 1983 Belles in mint condition. I have them hook up to an Octave v70se amp. The speakers are stunning. Great sound stage. Fantastic instrument separation. The only knock I have ever heard on the Belles is they are light on bass. I added a Rel S5 sub not even sure I needed too but the sub does sound great with the Belles. The Belles where named after Paul Klipsch first wife. They are beautiful and have an amazing sound. If they are in good shape if you don't want them I would like to maybe buy them depending on there condition and location. I would take them to monkey boy's house and make him buy them. That's the true story on how he got his 1972 Cornwalls. Anniversary present for his wife my ass. Where are the Belles located?

I voted for Heresy; maybe not the "best" overall, but a great combination of sound, size, style and price. What a great speaker!

When I got my cornwalls and finally found the "sweet spot", I was good on the speaker search. It took me some time tweaking the System for the room. I changed out tubes, put the speakers on feet to raise them in the front. Most important was putting them in the corner. The bottom end sounded so much better. Also changing out crossovers to the Crites upgrades is highly recommended
