I think both of these albums make for a great listening experience back-to-back. Both albums represent the darkest albums of each respective artist's career, and both were released in 1982. Very Reagan-era heavy albums. Nebraska is folk-oriented and presents the desperation of working-class people, and Nylon Curtain explores middle-class anxiety through a psychedelic, Beatlesesque vibe. Both are masterpieces IMO. Columbus was very fortunate to sign both artists in 1973.

Not nearly as fortunate as Atlantis was in signing the Stones in 1971.

I'm picturing a meeting between Aquaman and Keith Richards right now.

To get back to the original question, I love the nylon curtain. Billy Joel's best album, in my opening in. Lots of anxiety, sadness, and bittersweet emotions.
