If you guys are ever around Chicago, C'mon over.

So this is the drummer that was on tour with Satch last time around. Man he is a better drummer, than...pretty much everybody. Holy crap. He plays guitar too. The way he talks sounds like there is a lot going on between his ears.

    Buck Owens Post:
My first musical influence was Buck. Watching Hee-Haw. I thought he was cool just because of the red white and blue guitar. Years later I turned my friends on to Junior Brown and they went crazy into this country thing, actually they all worked in this relatively small factory and they just went head over heels into all the "good" country music. The filled me in on the incredible Don rich.
    Fantastic. Good call..

Got this on CD. Unbelievable. But I bought one or two more discs and they are good, but this compilation is a showcase. Double thumbs up.

I actually saw Torn but I was there for Bruford. This would have been at the Park West in Chicago, jeez in the 90's. i am more into that style music now than back then.

I actually met Bruford, he signed the dance single of "Sleepless". He was really nice and polite., he just came out up the main aisle, signed autographs. Very cool laid back dude. I met Fripp too. He was way cool. This is totally crazy, you know that dude who is the most obnoxious fan in your group? Fripp totally bonded with him and he was a total longhaired biker looking guy, going on about Jamie Muir.
There was a BIG line behind us and those two... it was as if they were in a bar together. Trey Gunn started looking at Fripp then he made the "Quack- quack" hand motion behind Fripps head then turned around really quick when Fripp looks around. It ended abruptly when the second most obnoxious person I knew at the time snapped a pic (film camera). we were laughing our asses off the person in your group that you would imagine to have anything in common with. Fripp looked up, pointed at him and said "Don't push it".
    There the line moved.

I am watching the video as I am typing. torn's playing is beautiful. I was more into rocking stuff at the time. I didn't get it.

In the process of discovering Mahavishnu. My first into to Roy was seeing him live at Aragon, Chicago. He backed up Johny Winter.

I have everything he did, its' all good/great but My fave is "Second Album" by a really long shot.

Mahavishnu is Mahavishnu. McLaughlin solo is a whole other world. More jazz, though, than fusion, not sure it that's your thing. With the exception of "Devotion" - it's a lot closer in spirit to Mahavishnu - hard driving.
