I agree wholeheartedly, that was a great show, much better than the original.

I know it actually ran for two seasons, but Dick Wolf's 2003 version of "Dragnet". They screwed it up the second season when it became "L.A. Dragnet" with Eva Longoria, et al. Ed O'Niell was great as Joe Friday.

That version that ran on A&E around 1999 or so with Maury Chaykin as Nero Wolfe was pretty good.

Many fans feel that way. I must dissent. Chaykin was just unpleasant and totally charmless. He totally missed Wolfe's charming arrogance combined with childlike petulance.

As for Tim Hutton's Archie (a role Hollywood has had curious trouble casting right), the less said the better.

Dick Wolf did a version of Dragnet with Ed O'Neill as Joe Friday? I need to see this...

Gidget (1965). Love On a Rooftop (1966). Great is a stretch but both were good shows that should have lasted longer.

    He & She (1967).

Darkroom. I absolutely loved it as a kid, and it held up very well the last time I saw it as an adult on the Sci-Fi Channel circa 2000. Unfortunately, they made the horrible choice to air shows that summer with pop up balloons like that VH1 show at the time in an attempt to be funny. It most definitely wasn't. Practically ruined the whole experience.

Or I could just post the opening from the first un-cancelled episode of Family Guy.

"Fay" (1975). Lee Grant's appearance on Johnny Carson hours after the show was cancelled certainly was memorable.

    Kolchak The Night Stalker (1974-75)

I'll have to do some thinking on the subject, but several others whose names won't willingly come to me need to be added to this!

Ah that was the show I was trying to remember! I recall seeing a couple of episodes quite a few years ago now but couldn't remember the name of the show. I really enjoyed the episodes I did see. I'll have to track down the DVD.

I guess that one was 2 seasons. Still canceled way too soon.

A more recent show. We were enjoying brain dead but I guess it was too quirky for some.
