I bet he is sending some kind of encrypted message to the other members of the Capitol cult across the globe. Look out, they have an evil plan to add reverb to every Beatle record and CD
In fact, some of them did. You are correct. Cuts off the Second Album (if they played the stereo version on the air) probably sounded much like the 'I Feel Fine'/'She's A Woman' single. I can't imagine what the 'I Feel Fine'/'She's A Woman' single itself sounded like, broadcast with all that extra reverb on top of that extra reverb. The song probably folded back onto itself.
Today I've listened to a few tracks of the stereo The Early Beatles, via the 06 Capitol CD. I was quite surprised, because Love Me Do and PS I Love You were not duophonic, but simply mono (the sound was just not in the middle of the two speakers, but a little to the right, since the right channell is boosted throughout the whole album). Was it like that in the original album or was it "upgraded" years later (like the duophonics in Yesterday and Today)? By the way, although I don't usually listen to PPM or WTB in stereo, I preferred the EQ in this CD over the 09 stereo PPM. Un fortunately, it's also more compressed.
^No, the original had Love Me Do in fake, re-EQ'd "stereo" (NOT DUOPHONIC with echo); though, P.S. I Love You was Duophonic.
That's interesting. Anybody knows when were they replaced with mono? Or was it specially done for the CDs? (which would be strange since those CDs contain the rest of duophonic versions)
