All systems are in "someone's" budget LOL! I think every system is AWESOME, as each one has at its core, a music lover, an audio lover, a passionate person. I enjoy all of the rigs here, all shapes and sizes and prices Makes me smile to see so many like minded people share their enthusiasm, regardless of the cost of each individual system.
To all you (us) Rob Wasserman fans. If you'd like to hear him kickin' the jams and rockin' out, check out Cosmic Farm! A Rockjazz/Fusion project that has some seriously well recorded bass!
And seek out Bruce Cockburn's album "The Charity Of Night" while you're at it. Wasserman's playing is a highlight of that brilliant piece.
I really don't mind that my room is small. I know the setup isn't proper. I know speakers sitting on concrete blocks doesn't look great. They may or may not stay there. I know my needles are DJ needles and aren't the best. I love my 1200's even if they are not modded. I love listening to music in my new music room. If you remember the last mess, this is a huge improvement. I just relocated to this spot, so my records are still mostly "autobiographically sorted," but I can put my hands on nearly anything I have. I keep seeing all these photos with the Kallaxes stacked on top of each other. I'm sure they're all bolted to the walls, etc., but holy crap, that would still make me nervous. Also, I wish I had that kind of clearance in my room!
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Here's a little lo-fi video of the arm in action. Cosmetics are yet to be ironed out.
Yes, We like to see into peoples' listening environments, and enjoy the variety of equipment and furnishings. Diversity is interesting.
I tried to capture a few photos of my stereo while it was relatively in order.. it's harder then I thought! This is the main living area of our (small) townhouse so it's frequently shared by my lovely wife and children and music is something we enjoy sharing together. The speakers are easily moved into position for more critical listening which is where they are now but also spend time tucked to the sides of the fireplace. I'm teaching my oldest son who is 8yrs old how to handle records and operate the turntable which he seems to like the delicate nature of both. Much different for him then tapping a file on a screen and listening to a digital file. Current project is figuring out where to store more albums when that day comes which is quickly approaching. I must say I've enjoyed every aspect of putting together and listening to this system. It's challenging but very rewarding. Thanks for looking. Cheers \
