The next album is supposedly going to be originals so it won't exactly be volume 2.

Wandering Spirit was good. The rest of his solo material I didn't care much for.

OP really needs to take a Xanax. It's only rock 'n' roll.

It's so strange; Mick aims these songs for the ultra current, pop listeners but when did he ever get in their good graces? Did he ever have a truly pop hit as a solo artist? He keeps chasing whatever the latest trends are and I get it he wants to create and wants to stay current. That's totally fine..but it's just bizarre that time and time and time again when he releases a solo material it always sounds like this. Always. I'm not sure what he's seeing on his end that makes him so loyal to the pop world as he has been in the past. Obviously someone is buying this stuff. But who? A genuine question and would love to get the demographic data on solo Mick Jagger fans.

Maybe Mick should cover Lee Marvin's Wandering Star.

On second thoughts, I'd enjoy Keith doing a cover of that little gem.

I assume it's mostly people who already know him from the Stones.

I was thinking a cover of the Wanderer myself.

I like both of them. England Lost more than the first one, but enjoyed both.

Why don't you just tell us why you like these tracks instead of trying to insult everyone who doesn't?

I almost liked Gotta Get A Grip but it's really lacking something. England Lost sounds far worse to me.
I don't plan on listening to either again.

I think a guest appearance by Drake or Ed Sheeran would have turned these songs into gold...

The Tame Impala/Kevin Parker remix of "Gotta Get a Grip" is a lot better than the original, imo.

How old was Bing Crosby when he did a duet with David Bowie?

I'm pleased to hear Mick is still in good voice. The songs are ok.

Sorry, but that's wrong. Go back to page 1. It was not me starting to compare Ringo with Mick Jagger.

    It is very strange.
Another member summed it up perfectly a few days ago, The Beatles started of with a fan base of mostly screaming young girls, and have ended up as an obsession for a group of old men.

I'd buy the album out of curiosity, but is Mick making a conscious effort to distance the sound/styles of his solo material from that of the Stones?

It would seem so, and that's not a bad thing necessarily, it's just that I don't like the songs.

That's the point, isn't it? I guess he can't win either way.

  25. He could win if he wrote a better song. I'd be super happy with "Throwaway" or "Just Another Night" at this point.
