For us here in the UK these RCMs appear to be very expensive. Because the Project RCM is made now in the Czech Republic it comes in a lot cheaper at ~£300. It's built like a brick outhouse and from reports I've read and heard works as well as the similar ones though I believe the ultrasonic ones are a step up.
Anyway I've had mine since Xmas and it works brilliantly and the Project cleaning fluid works excellently too (used to use L'Art Du Son). I have to admit all the Project equipment I've heard works extremely well though I wasn't a great fan of the Signature TT but then I'm not a fan of high mass TT per se. Still each to their own.
BTW this is not an advert for Project as I think they're doing alright on their own.

I heard an oboe with piano piece by Dutilleux on Radio 3 yesterday. I found it rather challenging.

I'm a big Vivaldi fan, but I'd buy this for the cover alone.

I have heard of Projects for years and have a lot of respect for the Czech traditional craftsmanship - the Czechs used to be a major precision firearm maker between the wars. I certainly would not mind adding its RCM to the list for consideration. European-made or North American made RCM is my target ...

    Guten Morgen!

I have this recording in the following box. How do you like performance on original instruments?

I am still undecided as I am only a believer in period instruments for baroque works ...

It's OK, interesting to hear it approximately how it would have sounded back then. To be honest in this case I got it because I love this label and the sound quality is usually excellent and I am familiar with the orchestra and conductor. Plus they cost 1 CAD- can't say no to that. The pianist is good, but of course I have interpretations by pianists I admire greatly and whose playing moves me much more and I totally prefer the sound of a modern piano.

And one more with birdie on the cover!!! I love birdies. In particular the amazing chickadees we have in Calgary. And the occasional Nuthatch that imitates chickadee behaviour.
This is when I feel like a Disney Princess

I absolutely love these recordings. The fortepiano (as used here) is actually closer to the instruments of Mozart's era than the modern concert grand is. I don't have a problem with the fortepiano's lighter sonority. I think it works to the advantage in some of the more complex and dense passages. Yet these recordings offer far more than historical "accuracy." Malcolm Bilson just happens to be a wonderful, sensitive pianist and these are some of John Eliot Gardiner's most inspired recordings.

I agree completely. I treasure the Bilson/Gardiner Mozart set. This Archiv recording of the piano quartets is top drawer too:

There are many Canadian geese in my area. I have noticed some very interesting behavior like after they make some sound, the whole flock takes flight after they have been wandering in the track area of a local middle school ...

My guess is that you would find most pieces by Dutilleux challenging. If the video below is the piece, it sounds pretty typical for Dutilleux to me. I don't own a version of it which I should change.
