What I remember most about Jerry Lewis is:

    His pantomime.

And his role with Robert DeNiro in 1983's THE KING OF COMEDY.

I really loved when he filled in as guest host on the Tonight Show. Chaos ensued, brilliant TV.

The Nutty Professor is fantastic, maybe his best. (Yes he was superb in The King Of Comedy). It's a must-see if you want to see a Jerry Lewis comedy, start with that one by all means.
I personally do not want to see The Day The Clown Cried. There's often good reasons some films are not released.

    Rest in peace, Jerry.

    This is very depressing news.
He was also, one of the greatest comedic talents, and I hate to read his scorn by many "oh, France has no taste" etc, many people don't know how great he was back in the day.

He was convincingly so in The King Of Comedy (1982). Gotta go watch that again.
Wonder if we'll ever get to see The Day The Clown Cried? I'm in no hurry for
    that myself, but one wonders...

The last of the great era of golden comedy. The days of the ol' slapstick
comedy have come to an end.
He was an incredible creator and writer of all of the Jerry/Dean stuff.
    Great actor and clever man.

The Telethon was "must-see TV" for me when I was younger. I would have it on all weekend.
It started to go downhill in the 90s, but that was to be expected. The celebrities from the old school showbiz days were dying off.
There really aren't any around, especially after today.

All of us who are of a certain age grew up watching his movies like the Nutty Professor and The Bellhop on TV. He was very silly and broad but we loved them and he made us laugh. Years later we saw King of Comedy and it was a different side to him and a depth to his acting we didn't know existed. He enjoyed a much deserved rediscovery.

On top of everything he raised a ton of money for muscular dystrophy. France must be in a national state of mourning. Rest In Peace Jerry.

First airing 4 September 2016 on the CBS News Sunday Morning...
Classic performances in movies like 1963’s “The Nutty Professor” helped make a legend out of Jerry Lewis. He’s 90 now, looking back -- and looking forward -- with Tracy Smith:
    Jerry Lewis returns.
I'll save all the effort of looking this up: This segment did originally air on Labour Day Weekend.

Yep, me too, and if I'm not mistaken, his officially leaves Carl Reiner as the last man standing from the cast of IAMMMMW.

Absolute tour-de-force performance in the "Wiseguy" arc about the 'shmata' business. RIP

The first time I saw a Jerry Lewis movie was when I was a kid at a drive in. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. And what a great guy. He will be sadly missed. R.I.P. Jerry Lewis

Jerry Lewis, thank you for the laughs (especially with Dino), for your son Gary Lewis (who's songs have always been a part of my life) and for what you did to help with the cause of M.D. (which raised millions and helped many). I hope that it was never wrong of me to always look forward each year to when Jerry would sing "You'll Never Walk Alone", as it somehow always gave me some deep rooted hope for something or someone?
