Can you pick 5 at the top end of your list and 5 nearer the bottom? LOVE: A lovemongers Christmas, Dreamboat Annie, Desire walks on, Passionworks, The road home LOVE lesser: Rock the house, Fanatic, Magazine, Bebe me strange, Private audition. Rock the house is the weak link for me.
Best 5: 1. Passionworks 2. Little Queen 3. Heart 4. Dreamboat Annie 5. Magazine Least favorite 5: 1. Jupiter's Darling 2. Fanatic 3. Desire Walks On 4. Private Audition 5. Bebe le Strange Even the albums that I'm not too keen on have songs that I like. I haven't heard Beautiful Broken yet, so I didn't include it.
I only care for Dreamboat Annie and Little Queen. Once they turned into a big hair 80's rock group, all the magic was gone for me. Still, Dreamboat Annie is timeless.
What, no love for Dog and Butterfly?!! It's a classic and should be first or second in any list of best Heart albums.
I will do the ones I like. Dreamboat Annie Little Queen Magazine Dog & Butterfly Bébé le Strange I also really like Passionworks and Heart.
I really love the 80s stuff: HEART BAD ANIMALS BRIGADE ...but I am also a big fan of "LITTLE QUEEN" for example.
Love: Dreamboat Annie Dog & Butterfly Magazine Little Queen Private Audition (I think only the title track is bad; love the rest, always have) No thanks: Heart Bad Animals Brigade Passionworks Bebe le Strange, which has aged horribly
Top: Dreamboat Annie >>>>> Dog & Butterfly > Little Queen Bottom: Bebe Le Strange > Brigade >>> Heart(1985) If you ask me, Heart never reached the heights of sheer brilliance they showed on Dreamboat Annie ever again. There are flashes of it right up until Bebe, but good lord did their quality nosedive on and after the Selftitled. Cheesy, cheap hairmetal ballads. Everyone involved in the Selftitled was wasted on it, honestly. I haven't listened to a lot of their stuff; I've heard all from Dreamboat Annie - Private Audition, then Selftitled and Brigade. I'm hoping to find a couple gems in their original run, and maybe some good stuff in their 2010s albums?
The half-album they recorded for Magazine in 1976 is first-rate, without a doubt on par with Dreamboat Annie. Heck, it was recorded right between the two albums you listed.
