Can't edit now but for some reason I wrote Steve Harrison when
it should be Steve Harris!:sigh::rolleyes::p

As a die hard Maiden fan that shouldn't have happened. I'm so sorry but I guess I wasn't thinking clearly. :)

This is a toughy. I didn't want to think about it too long, preferring to see what popped off the top of my head:

    Jimi Hendrix
    Otis Rush
    Guitar Slim
    Eric Clapton
    Freddie King

So hard. Honorable mention to Duane Allman, Peter Green, Mike Bloomfield, Michael Hampton (P-Funk), T-Bone Walker, Buddy Guy (especially on Hoodoo Man Blues) and Wayne Bennett (Bobby Bland).

Gary Duncan doesn't really belong. He was just as much a lead guitarist as Cipollina. Duncan even played some of the lead on Cipollina showcase Cobra.

I admire too many to narrow it to a top five. Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix are my two favorites, but after that, I love the playing and work by a number of players.
