It's a shame they didn't include Let It Be... Naked, that's an LP I would really be interested in. After all, what's the point of including compilations like 1, when the collection includes all the albums and Past Masters?

I agree ; I don’t get that at all. For standard punters, should they purchase the Red, the Blue and then 1, not to mention Past Masters, there will be considerable duplication.

Was it not the case that the German run was aborted?

Maybe that's why I can't find them here. A pity.

I wasn't really thinking about getting the anthologies, having heard excepts many years back and not being to interested, but after reading your posts I think I might have to get down to Tescos and get myself a copy.

Can these be acquired individually without having to pay the 20+ dollars for shipping on Ebay?

The person(s) who cut the original Anthologies for vinyl and LIBN didn't do a particularly good job, in my opinion.

I never had those in vinyl, but being that the case, it's another reason why LIBN should have been included.

Maybe someone could email Sean Magee and ask him whether he remastered any other albums in addition to the standard set?.

In the UK they can be bought individually or part of a subscription. They are sold at Tescos and WH Smith. Not sure where else.

The standard set is not remastered. Actually, they still show the 2009 copyright credit for the mastering. They are new cuts of the same masters.

With that being the case then maybe Sean Magee wasn't asked to recut the LIBN album?, I do find it interesting that they mention the potential of additional releases to compliment this set "releases unknown" but haven't got around to letting anyone know if these releases will come to fruition?. I personally think they won't but if they did it would be great of course!. I did email Abbey Road studios and asked them and they said they cannot comment on what any of their engineers are doing for specific clients or customers.

I take it compared to the US Rainbo pressings. Not much difference with the Optimal pressed 2012 for titles I compared. Slightly preferred the Optimal versions (and new Pepper lacks the run out groove babel).

Seeing the popularity of the Jazz and Beatles collections (in Ireland, at least), I will be very surprised if another collection will not be launched in 2017. Plenty of both are in the Eason's shops in Dublin during the relevant fortnight. Even Eason's shops in rural areas carry the Beatles LP.

What's not to love? Unlike the usual partworks, you can dip in and out as you like and are not committing to 200 issues which require the collection of parts of a model where you cannot miss one or the model is incomplete.

Heard somewhere ages ago that an 80's collection was being considered by De Agostini. Haircut 100 on vinyl anyone?

I have loads of 80s on vinyl I personally hope they decide to go with something else more classic like a Dylan collection or Pink Floyd or something on similar lines. I always see 80s In Charity stores Duran Duran, Erasure et al!. Not for me that particular era "here's hoping they choose something else!". But I'm sure there would be a market for it whatever they go for!. Issue 1 Human League Dare , Issue 2 Duran Duran Rio spring to mind!. Issue 3 a daring remastered Cure Pornography ! Can't imagine that making the list!.

I wonder too will they do another series once the Beatles one is done? There has been some speculation with solo Beatles records although I'd love them to do Pink Floyd: any excuse to pick up all the new vinyl issues.

Can't see them doing a floyd one - not when the reissues only came out last year. Queen are a possibility as they are a big draw, but again not that long since the vinyl reissues came out.

A Rolling Stones set would be interesting but that would probably go on for ages!!

I wasnt comparing to the Rainbo pressings. I got rid of them a long time ago. The pressing quality of the DeAgostinis and the Optimals are similar in my opinion. Not all of my copies of the DeAgostinis have been flawless.

Queen is a good guess/suggestion. Floyd might be sniffy about a magazine series but it would be the kind of thing I could see Queen doing. Their Greatest Hits albums have sold so many copies in the U.K. that there would be an audience primed to go a bit deeper with all the albums (if they had not already).

There's not many acts that could pull off a series like this. Who else is there? Bowie - but it would never happen. Could Elton do it? A Zeppelin series is not unimaginable...

It would have to be a band where all eras of the artists career would have to be successful and popular with joe public. Bowie definitely wouldn't happen due to the projects of his box sets. Led zepplin? Not sure there are enough albums. Elton could be a contender but again he is mid reissue already.
