I have been buying cds from this sellers that sells cds starting at o1 cent to 99 cents..
Never had problem him.. so decided to buy some paul simon cds ..
because they were cheap.. I got them last week there marked Amobea Outlet
one cd $1.99 and the other $2.99 .. Which I found odd this seller has no relation
to Amobea .I know he buys wholesale.. Hmm.. this doesn't bold well
for Amobea and it's other stores I have feeling most of this sellers
cds he sells are from all three stores.. The end I feel is coming soon..
to all three stores. when they can't even sell there own cds at there stores or online.

I don't necessarily see this as evidence that Amoeba is in trouble. CDs are in decline as a revenue source for most record shops, and they are devoting more of their space to vinyl. My guess is that Amoeba has started dumping their lowest-priced CDs on the wholesale market, because they can make more money devoting that floor space to used vinyl.

For a brick-and-mortar retailer to keep $1.99 and $2.99 CDs on the floor, for weeks or months on end, costs them money. It's likely better for their bottom line to dump those CDs in bulk for 50 cents each, or even 10 cents each, to a buyer like the guy you purchase from.
