I've seen a lot of people ragging on it...what else would they have called it, though?

The name is the least of this films' problems I think, it's fine. The underlying issue is that, even with Lawrence and Jon Kasdan helming the screenplay; we are going to be asked to accept another actor playing the role of a younger Han Solo. Han Solo is not James Bond or some other character that has been portrayed by multiple actors. Han Solo is Harrison Ford and vice versa, as far as I'm concerned – until proven wrong.

That's not to say that it's impossible to cast a 'younger version' of a beloved character; it has been done before. One need only look to Harrison Ford's other iconic role of Indiana Jones for an example. The late River Phoenix did an awesome job portraying the young Indiana Jones in "The Last Crusade" with a whimsy and aplomb. But that was RIVER PHOENIX, perhaps the greatest actor from his and my generation. Subsequently, Ewan McGregor was able to eventually win me over in his portrayal as Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it took awhile. And I think McGregor is a top of the line talent. He made that role in the prequels his own.

Stories like this one make me a little uneasy about where this is going. I'm trying hard not to completely take a dump on this but I'm not optimistic. Not to mention the turnstile director's chair that Kathleen Kennedy has going for these films.

It's a nice title card, though. :sweating:

I just don't understand why this film needed to be made other than $$$. All I can see it doing is ruining the mystique of Han Solo when he is introduced in the original Star Wars. It's the prequels all over again.
