Hüsker Dü - "Savage Young Dü" 4LP/3CD (2017)

Maybe a couple days after the announcement went up?

 

Was hoping / assuming these ‘Extra Circus’ would come with the next Hüsker Dü CD set. Though, decided to purchase this CD in case they aren’t, or the second set never materializes.

 

I got my copy in the mail today. I ordered during the first few hours.

I was just reading the booklet. I didn't know about the first gigs being at Ron's on Randolph in Saint Paul. I grew up three blocks from there. I was ten years old at the time they played there.

 

Yeah...plus with their 15% off coupon and free shipping I wasted a ton preordering straight from Numero. Do you know if the version from Popmarket is identical?

 

I can say that Extra Circus was available on colored vinyl (light blue/dark blue swirl) for initial orders only, as those songs are not included on the box set or with digital downloads. But that may not be a big deal if you can get black vinyl with those songs now, as a separate order.

 

I got my shipping notice on the 17th.

It’s the 21st and the tracking indicates my copy still hasn’t been picked up by the Post Office. Anyone else in this position?

Mine was in the "label printed" state for 5 days but the actual package finally made it to the Chicago Post Office today and then quickly to Iowa. Due for delivery a week from today according to the tracking site.

Ha, that's about five blocks from where I live right now. My dentist is across the street. BTW, the pizza from Maverick's (next door to the former Ron's on Randolph) is sensational.

 

Mine has not shipped.

 

It’s now 7 days since I got my shipping notice and I’m STILL on “USPS awaiting item.”

Have written to Numero Group via their website and will report back if I get a reply!

 

They probably just printed all the shipping labels at once and are sending as many per day as they can pack!
It's a small company and no doubt they received thousands of pre-orders...

Now if only someone who actually received it can talk about it....

 

According to an e mail I got, they have over 3,000 orders and it's a 2 man mail room operation, they expect to get all orders out within a few weeks.
I got my cd set but haven't had a chance to listen yet, but it looks really cool. The 45 is green.

 

I won't be able to truly dig in for a couple days, but having streamed the first 2/3s I went straight for record 4 -- Everything Falls Apart and some Metal Circus live tracks -- this last side steadily in the red and thrilling as hell. No remorse here, a birthday present to myself that will keep on giving.

 

This is what I got back from Numero...

"We have a crazy amount of Du orders, so we got ahead start on packing and printing labels. When we print your shipping label you get emailed. Your order should hopefully not get to you later that Nov. 10th."​

So I guess we just wait.

 

Maybe doesn't make it feel it much better, but did you get the free download with your pre-order at Numero?

I did but I was going to wait until my box arrived before I dig in. It shipped on Saturday.

 

Exactly. That's what makes it hard for me to complain. Plus, it still seems very likely to arrive well before the announced release day.

In any case, my copy is finally en route (which I learned mid-way thru writing this post, oddly).

 

I have listened through and read my silver vinyl copy. Mighty impressive work here. One of the top releases of 2017. Lotsa love went into this one!
