It was created on biodegradable pic data, so this'll cost $5 million.^^

Looks like we should start something similar like the blue/gold/white dress phenomenon!

By the way, I start to believe this item was pressed at a private record plant in Orange County.

Ok, here's a thought. What if this was a genuine one off mis-pressing? Hear me out: is it entirely possible on the first run of printing these covers out that whatever ink was left over on the plates from the album cover that was printed before might have got slapped on the bare embossed cardboard in error? Hence the near perfect job....

In saying that, $20,000 is a ridiculous price anyway...

I think the number itself makes that unlikely. Why start printing White Albums at the number 0960786.

Just browsing through all the White albums at "We Buy White Albums" makes it more likely someone painted it themselves. The white cover is just begging for something to be added. There is one on that site just 7200 away, which is not right next door, but still it makes it pretty obvious (to me) it was altered after it was bought. I would like to see the other edges of the jacket and the inner surface of the jacket to see if there is any bleedthrough at all.

So there's a copy of the white album with an orange front and spine. So bloody what? Manufactured at the time or 'faked' later what possible difference... why would this matter to anyone? What is at all historical even if it were made at the time? Big deal. I have had various magazines with two covers on them as accidents of manufacturing... big deal. I guess I do not get it. I am just a mere accumulator and never a 'collector'. Upside down stamp or slight variation in a coin? Don't ask me, it means zero nothing and nada to me. Zip. I mean are these people from the same species as I am? How is that possible? Augh!

    :D

Made an offer. He turned it down.
This picture is the most obvious evidence that it's a paint-over. Your post said it best. His stupid game is over. I'd be embarrassed to ask Perry Cox about it - other than to say, "Did you hear what some rube listed on ebay?".

Oh. So what you're saying is it's not a phenomenal $20,000 Beatles rarity? Wow. Had me fooled.

An orange white album has got to be far rarer than even the #666 numbered black white album Lennon gave to Anton LaVey, which I hear is quite valuable as it's the only one known to exist, now in the hands of Mick Jagger because, no, it wasn't painted black 'cause we could tell if it was and it wasn't. The Dorian Gray of bootleg Beatles rarities or so I hear. I mean not bootleg but special ordered one off printed black cover. Gotta be worth something.

May be this copy originally belonged to Picasso, and he painted it in orange by himself...:)
