Most of the video has never circulated. Only about 3 minutes has ever been seen in HD.

IOW and Hollywood Bowl are the only Doors concert film/video anywhere near a full set.

I anticipate the extras will be of the "give or take" variety. Welcome value but nothing that I "need".

I hear you. I typically don't get too fussed with videos, mainly because I have a ton of concert videos of bands I love but usually only tend to watch them once or twice and the file them away. I prefer to listen to my music instead of watch it (on a regular basis, at least).

Event review from the MildEquator site

16mm color footage with full soundboard audio. The filmwork is dark due to the band's refusal to allow movie spotlights during the performance. The opening European tour concert at the Isle of Wight features a late, mellow performance by The Doors, ultimately proving to be their last appearance ever in Europe with Jim Morrison at stagefront. A full-length soundboard recording gives collectors good reason to believe the entire performance was filmed. Other bands have released their full performances from this festival. Performances of 'The End' and 'When The Music's Over' are included in 'Message to Love', a feature documentary film released in 1997. Television broadcast clips of The Doors are also known to collectors.

It would be cool if this was included as a bonus. Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell & Jimi Hendrix introductions @ the 14:25 mark

I'm listening to this concert right now on Tidal HiFi. Sounds great, nice stereo image, but the copyright is credited to "RR Live Recordings", is this an unofficial version slipping through the cracks or the properly mastered official release slipping out early?

Off topic question: is there a thread where the new Strange Days Deluxe stereo / mono release is being discussed?

I know the original Strange Days Deluxe thread was closed, so just checking. I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on this vs. the other Strange Days releases (DCC, HDTracks, AP SACD, etc)

  12. Yes, it's been out for awhile and sound quality is great. Or are you questioning that it should be mulitrack instead of soundboard?

Yes. I have not been following the IOW too closely; my understanding is that the audio for the upcoming project was a multi-track source.

Indeed. Just read the full IOW description from MIldEquator and it states multitrack source.

It should be, even according to the circulating bootleg, which is supposed to be taken from a rough reference mixdown. Great sound!

John Albarian was the producer for the THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT restoration-DVD reissue. So I have SOME hope!

Or how about how long the band has discussed IOW's release? Maybe since 2000?
