I have one singlesolitaryittybittyteensytinygoshisheevencomplainingaboutthat?!?Iwishallproblemsinmylifewereasdiffiucltasthis issue with these boxsets. :D

Some of the singls/b-sides which are replicated on multiple releases. I have Only Solitaire in three different spots. When my brain hears that last note of Only Solitaire it's prepared for a certain sound to follow...then a completely different song comes on and I'm transported to the land of confusion for an indeterminable amount of time!

Reading the History of a band 1968-2001 book, Ian states about the HH recording sessions:
"We probably recorded about 20 songs, many of which were discarded or not finished"...
I think we can expect a lot of good stuff from this set in 2018.:tiphat:

I am always the live detective.
I was saving this post for later on:

what is it with the 16/11/79 Civic Auditorium Santa Monica, Ca. USA UNICEF benefit concert broadcast by KMET-FM? Maybe IA has the tapes stored at home, waiting to b e recovered in time for Stormwatch? :targettiphat::tiphat::shtiphat:

    Sorry about the threadcrap, but...
Just for those who are interested about the Fish Out Of Water remix: an update from the Esoteric label:

"Just to keep folks posted. This will be a March release. There will be 2 versions--one in a limited edition box set with 5.1 surround , vinyl and extras etc and a cut down edition too."

And to stay the course with JT and another fish out of water: [IMG]

Cool! Probably the first time I've heard Ian forget so many words, humming his way through big chunks of verses.

A very nice and different version anyway, don´t you agree? Would be nice to hear it in a cleaner state.

  13. And now we can all look forward to a Broadsword set....

Has there ever been a more fruitful collaboration that Ian Anderson and Steven Wilson regarding reissue programs?

With the move to titling the releases I doubt they'll put the brakes on this train just to hit 40th anniversary dates for the remainder.

    It's the Budweiser edition. :uhhuh:

  20. It's not Steven Wilson, is it? Isn't it Jakko Jakszyk?

The recording is from an April 1980 radio session. According to the Ministry of Information, Tull played four songs: Jack-in-the-Green, Peggy's Pub, Dun Ringill and Heavy Horses. Scott Allen Nollen says "Television weatherman Francis Wilson also was on hand to reprise his spoken introduction to 'Dun Ringill.'"

I haven't heard the other tracks, but if the tapes still exist, the complete session would be a worthy inclusion on the expanded Stormwatch, in the same way that the 1975 Monte Carlo BBC tracks were a nice bonus on Minstrel in the Gallery. The session is historically significant because it was the last-ever performance by the 1970s lineup. They had wrapped up their final tour a few weeks earlier.

  24. So the 50th will bring Heavy Horses and something we need to start saving for(career spanning live box of unreleased stuff?).
What a lot of people would appreciate are rereleases of the 20th and 25th anniversary boxes in the same format as the recent album rereleases.I have both of these and think they are both excellent and both went out of print fairly quickly.I'm sure there is a market for these.
