All I want to say is that it is nice that SOMEONE out there is choosing titles for the audiophile SACD treatment that aren't the same ol' same ol'. (Mobile Fidelity and Analog Productions take note.)
Ordered both from Amazon(since I have prime) but I suspect, depending on how much they get it may or may not ship. I've been rerunning into the same issue with them lately as I did with Import CDs.
Yeah, now that I think about it...we really oughta have a new SACD of Abraxas about now... Who's with me...?
Be interesting to hear if/how much better this sounds than the Castle issues. I do hope they are successful, and it leads to more Todd remasterings. But my ultimate dream is a program of SA-CD surround mixes. I really need to hear Healing in 5.1.
The playing time of stereo-only SACDs exceeds redbook CD. I just read another post of an SACD that exceeded 90 minutes.
You are correct. I posted that my Analogue Productions SACD of Mahler Symphony No. 3 contains the entire 90+ minute symphony on one hybrid disc SACD layer. However the Redbook layer of this disc only contains part of it while a second CD completes the program as it is too long for one Redbook disc.
That figures, I JUST got the MFSL Gold of Something/Anything?. Now you tell me I have to order it again
Kinda my point, Sparkie...it was in jest. Do you have any idea how many times this titles has been re-re-released while others go untouched?
I look forward to hearing the AWATS. Hope they do Todd, his other great album. Guess these are going to be expensive in backwaters Britain.
