Over the last twelve months or so I've found a number of Verve Jazz two for ones, ie., double LP, two records with reissues of old Jazz from the 1950's.
    Eg.,
    Ben Webster - Ballads
    Billie Holiday
    Ella Fitzgerald sings Duke Ellington
Lester Young / Mean to me
    Jazz at the Philharmonic
Ben Webster - Soulville and Ben Webster meets Oscar Peterson
Prez and Teddy (Lester Young and Teddy)

    and lots of others.
All of the ones I have done in 1980 were mastered by Bob Ludwig. With no RL in the deadwax though.
The sound on all of these is great, all the ones I have better the originals. Though not necessarily the ORG or analogue productions reissues where there is one. However, the sound holds up.

Funny is though that on all the ones I have, the running order of the tracks has been changed around. Weird if you're used to the original running orders. Anyone know why?

They are really cheap too. You can pick them up for a few bucks, on Discogs.

Does anyone else have the same experience with these?

I bought a great many of them as they were released in the 1970s and enjoyed them tremendously. It was the only way to hear this music then, pre-internet.

    Anyone else?
I seem to remember Steve Hoffmann or someone else writing about them

They don't appear to be well known
