...aaaaand it's a deal... Disney Makes Deal for 21st Century Fox, Reshaping Entertainment Landscape dan c
It's still a hell of a lot of money, anyway the New York Times is now reporting that the deal is done.
Factor-in all the merch & licensing for the franchise...maybe not a "T" but a whole lotta "B's" Oh, and there's the small matter of the Star Wars Land and theme hotel coming to Disney World. Where they will sell even more merch.
Okay, I knew about the new themed land, but not a themed hotel! https://www.simplemost.com/immersive-star-wars-hotel-coming-walt-disney-world/ Wow!
Good, for two reasons: 1. Possibility of a Blu-Ray release of the original SW trilogy 2. Fantastic Four in the MCU All hail the Mouse.
I'll bet good money Disney uses the unaltered cuts of the original Star Wars trilogy to hype their new movie streaming service, which launches in 2019.
Oh yeah, they'll probably make them an exclusive there for like a year or so before releasing them elsewhere.
So now Disney owns every Wes Anderson movie (with the exception of Bottle Rocket). Bizzare, and I wonder how it will effect the Criterion releases of those and other Fox films (though Disney has always owned Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, and Life Aquatic so it seems a deal can be reached with them if your botique label is prestigious enough).
What's funny is that the Roger Corman one that was never released is still the best one of the bunch!
Oh great - when do we start seeing Stan Lee cameos in every freakin' Pixar movie.... or.... .wait - maybe the FF belongs in the Pixar department! The Incredibles vs. The Fantastic Four! Excelsior!
True, but it we got down to brass tacks you could also argue that some of the cartoon episodes of the Fantastic Four were better than any of the movies.
