Watched this last night. I rarely see trailers but for some reason, saw this one and was intrigued. The premise is simple ; Groundhog Day but with a sinister twist. The protagonist relives her birthday and keeps getting killed by somebody. She has to figure out who it is.

There are some genuinely tense moments and some really funny scenes as well. Good acting by the actor playing the victim who needed lots of range to play everything from sad to angry and everything else in between.

It's a mystery as to whom the culprit is so that part of it was fun for me. The end isn't as great as the rest of the film but it's still good. Recommended for those not looking for Oscar-worthy taking-itself-too-seriously entertainment.

Closer to the Edge Of Tomorrow (where wee Tommy O'Cruise dies every day). So one movie borrows its premise from Groundhog Day directly, and the other indirectly.

Surprisingly fun movie. I thought it would suck but kept it on one afternoon and really enjoyed it.

I don't know why I find this so hilarious, but the line (at 3:07) and the face she makes in this clip is quite funny to me.

Good to know. I had no idea. Hopefully, the writing is as good. The original was engaging, funny, and suspenseful.

The original was out over Halloween & the sequel is out on Valentine's Day!

I was pleasantly surprised by the original. Will probably check this one out.

The sequel is out now and it's even more clever than the original.

To add a little bit more detail - the sequel has one of the more clever time travel/alternate universe plots that I've seen in a long time.

I think a lot of people would enjoy this who ordinarily wouldn't go see what do you think of as a "horror/splatter" film. The lead actress is really good and is called upon for far greater emotional range then one would suspect in this type of film.

I was thinking of catching the sequel but had yet to see the first one, so I saw it online. Eh, not bad. Best thing about it is the lead actress, but there wasn’t enough there to get my butt to the theater for the second part...

Many, many times. In amusing ways, and also to save other people. The thing that is so amazing about the second one is the character's growth, both intellectually and emotionally, and it's one of those films that's far deeper than it would appear to be from first viewing.

Saw the 2nd one and I have to admit it was very cleverly done! What a nice surprise... because frankly, the Asian actor (or at least his character) was not too much fun to follow at the beginning. Was relieved the girl was the protagonist as she's a much more compelling figure to watch, IMHO.

At the end, there's an extra couple of minutes of footage which is silly but fun.

Really enjoyed how meticulous the filmmakers were at recreating the first one's scenes. Very cool storyline.
