How do you hear about reissues?

My primary source is here. But there have been a couple of reissues I just stumbled upon by shear luck. Boxer Rebellion reissued their first albums on vinyl and luckily I saw it randomly otherwise I wouldn’t want to pay the asking price now. Most other reissues I have to watch the band’s website, discogs, etc... hoping that something is coming. That’s a crap shoot and this site is full of other discussions, as it should be, so the types of music I am looking for are easy to miss as they often don’t get much traction if they get discussed at all. What’s a guy to do? What do you do?

Usually here or I might see a copy of a reissue on eBay. Sometimes I think of an album and then do an internet search and find it's been reissued. I always check here for comments on the mastering, sound and pressing quality.

I'm on a lot of label email lists. Yes it's a lot of fluff and useless updates but some of the time it's about upcoming reissues. That and SDE does a great job of upcoming box sets/deluxe edition reissues.

And of course, if there's an album you're hunting, do an Amazon search for it. It very well may be in print. Then you can check here to see if anyone has opinions on the pressing.

So many sources available. A few I use are, Amazon pre-order, sort by format and genre, Dusty Groove -(Coming soon) also genre specific, Forced Exposure-(forthcoming),and Vinyl Collective who always have a large list of pre-order releases.

Several of my favorites are friends so I hear directly from them, but an easy way is to like the artists' pages on Facebook - anytime they have a new release in the works they'll definitely be talking about it. And on this forum, of course.

Fantastic! I'd never heard of it...some nice touches, such as links for discographies, sampling, and disparate lists for new and reissued releases. Thanks rjp! #SHFPublicServiceAnnouncement

    ....internet?

But seriously, it's usually a combination of Google and Amazon (and more recently this forum). :)
