Pick as many as you like.

How many of these do/did you own?

Wow, I'm surprised to say I own 10 of these:

    Carpenters
    Wings
    Pink Floyd
    Ringo
    ELP
    Mike Oldfield
    Deep Purple
    Beatles
    Stevie Wonder
    Yes

with Brain Salad Surgery and Tales from Topographic Oceans being among my Top 20 or so LPs and The Beatles Blue Album being a Top 10 compilation.

1973/74 was clearly an excellent time for popular music. :agree:

This was a pretty common LP in the seventies.

You can still pick it up today from every charity shop in the UK.

For me, Slade hands down. It is a bit sad, because that was the moment when glam started to go downhill. But ONBaB is a fantastic record with deep meaning, showing that Slade was able to make slower songs (Everyday is one of my favourite songs of that era). From the rest, DSoTM is a must, as well as Band On The Run.

Old, New Borrowed & Blue is my favourite Slade album. It was much more varied than their earlier stuff.

Both Old New Borrowed and Blue and Slade in Flame showed a mature band. They tried to appeal the youngster and the older. I think they should be remembered more than their previous hits.

This album (which up to press only I have voted for:D) was a massive hit spending over 2 years on the UK charts! By 1974 Perry was nudging 62, so there’s hope for a Madonna comeback after all.:D

Nice to see that everything has at least one vote. I’m assuming the Leo Sayer album included The Show Must Go On, which was his debut hit.

I've got about half - if I was allowed only one it would be Stevie and Talking Book (was then, still is now...).

I have 15 of them. Mostly accumulated over the years. I certainly didn’t have the means to buy 15 albums in 1974.:)

Voted for the 15 I own, though would certainly appreciate a few more.

Guess as one of my most played albums, certainly for two years I played it every day, Dark Side Of The Moon, must come top, but being the Steve Hoffman forum, a more than honourable mention must go for 67-70, which was the first Beatles album I bought.

A few of these albums kept the charts busy for a very long time!

Interesting how many of these pre-1974 releases are on this '74 chart.

It was February, still very early for new releases to chart. Sales of albums were significantly lower than singles during that era (and also they were more expensive). Bear in mind that albums could spend almost a year in the Top 20, while singles had an average of 1-2 months in the charts.

Only one of three that I own from this chart. More 70's to explore again!

Not generally a fan of country but I'm a big fan of Glen. Worth it just for "Wichita Lineman" alone. And he still had his biggest hits to come.

    Great album chart. Voted

    Carpenters x2
    Wings
    Elton x2
    Ringo
    Bowie
    Gilbert
    S&G
    Glen
    Stevie
