For 3 albums anyway. Then Cat falls off a cliff.

I was going through this thread and was very impressed with the fact that your wife has a MFSL Gold version of Tea. My wife wouldn't have a clue as to what a MFSL Gold cd was.

This probably turned some Cat fans off, way back when, but I still love it.

Cat's best album is 1972's "Catch Bull At Four."

if Cat “fell off a cliff”, I’m sure he passed James Taylor right before impact

Well I consider Mona Bone Jakon, Tea For The Tillerman, Teaser And The Firecat and Catch Bull At Four his core and essential albums, then he slides down a hill, not so much falls off a cliff.

I still have what is essentially his Matthew And Sons, New Masters and Very Young And Early Songs....very spotty. I also have Foreigner and Buddha And The Chocolate Box. But I sold off my Numbers, Izitso and Back To Earth. I tend to get all of the albums by artist I like, but I have no problem having a terminal cut off point.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cd version of Teaser and the Firecat?

The MFSL cd is excellent. The original Island is "ok".
Didn't care for the 2000's series of remasters but I heard good things about some recent hires editions.

I really wish there were decent releases of "Mona Bon Jakon" and "Catch Bull At Four".
Seriously, mfsl should've went for those instead of the "Three". (izitso numbers & back to earth)

Maybe Audio Fidelity or even MFSL themselves would pick these up... here's hopin'. :)

Thanks! I'll probably see if I can find the Island issue first.

First two albums I really rate, Island that is. Picked up MFSL Tillerman quite cheaply awhile back. Lift lock.
Always a pleasure to listen to.

I'm trying to listen to it now. 18 minute song by cat is where I quit following his albums I guess

Original Islands for both Tea and Teaser. They are superb and better the MOFI's - I own both Islands and MOFI's. The Islands sound nice and warm with 'in the room with you' clarity and sound much closer to the original vinyl to my ears.
