Oh yea, you mean like the Limiñanas thread in my signature? Well, we did manage to get a couple others on-board the velvet yé-yé underground train
Loving this....new Fischerspooner lp - sir....produced by Michael Stipe of REM (WTF) annoyingly no vinyl as far as i can see at the moment
Superchunk- What a Time to be Alive Best Superchunk album since Here's Where the Strings Come In???? Yeah, I think so. Are live albums allowed? If so, I gotta mention the new GbV live album, Ogre's Trumpet. It's amazing.
Ask and ye shall receive: new Family Of The Year single ahead of the album dropping May 18th (this band writes hooks like few others):
Am loving the new Alela Diane album, CUSP. Maybe not as good as ABOUT FAREWELL, but much better than her last album.
Yea, I think you may be right, not many albums I talk about around here are found in the music section at the department stores, what would be the fun in that? Seriously, can't remember when I was last in Best Buy, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't for music. I did just get a Jane Weaver record in the mail today and playing it now, Friday night after work fun with some Lagunitas IPA and The Silver Globe, love her to pieces now, just wish I'd found her sooner, but the catch up is a lotta fun too ...
I found the Shadow People-Liminanas at a local music shop, gotta ask them about Psychic Lemon. It's just not easy finding hard copy of this good music. I can shop online, but I like real shops, I guess.
I know what you mean, I'm actually in a very good area to find a lot of these new albums at the local shops, it's just easier online sometimes than braving all the traffic only to find it's not in stock. Still, it's a lot more fun flipping records in the shops on a lazy afternoon than scrolling through google hits for possible places to buy online
All These Worlds Are Yours by Holy, released January 28: All These Worlds Are Yours [LP], by HOLY This album opens with heavy Tame Impala-vibes. I'm only about halfway through at the time of this post. The current song, "Dreaming Still?," is probably a low point on the album, but overall I think it's been an fun and interesting ride so far. The cover art and tracklist resemble Bon Iver's esoteric efforts from 2016, but fear not: this album lacks the pretension found in 22, A Million. The tracks that stand out to me so far are "Night on Earth" and the title track.
Thanks, that is very nice, listened to the whole thing while I made brunch today after we got back from our run. Kind of getting off the 2018 topic, but another really nice one from last year that I just discovered recently, but have already fallen in love with, is from Stefan Wesolowski, his latest Rite Of The End. I've mentioned it a few times around here, and he has some connections to fellow Polish countryman Michal Jacaszek ...
Heard Sunwatchers the other day on BBC 6Music for the first time playing a song from their second album, Flowers Of The Water. They're coming to the UK and I'm thinking of attending one of their gigs. Anyone seen this band by any chance?
Gave it a listen on Tidal last night and enjoyed it so much I ordered the CD on Amazon this morning. Going to check out their earlier ones today to see how far back in their catalog I should order as well.
make way for this album: Make Way For Love, by Marlon Williams tags: soothing, acoustic, dreamy, beautiful man voice
I’m glad you like it. He’s so underrated. Strongly suggest to check Into The Black, 24 Hours, Cannibals, Peace Signs. There’s a Greatest Hits album that came out not long ago. Richie is also lead guitar and vocals on the band The Winery Dogs. Awesome stuff.
Maybe you'd be more interested in Cohen's Songs of Love and Hate? But really, the Marlon Williams album is really good. It usually takes me a few listens to "get" an album, but it really is a pretty album. Also, been digging that new Hookworms' album, Microshift. That opener keeps getting stuck in my head...
