Ehm, yes....as I admire that someone is skilled in playing all kinds of instruments and does a (almost) note-for-note studio performance of an existing piece, the first thing that comes to my mind is ... what's the point?

    Jealous?

Huh? Er.... No, of course not. Why would I be?
What has that got to do with my comment?
Jealous of what? I said I admire the guy, that he can play all instruments. But again, if you are able to do that, why not create something yourself? Or do a cover version in a different way?

The point is that this is one talented musician.

Any word on the 5.1 being released seperate from the box?

Maybe, but it takes real talent to create something of your own.

There are a couple of points. In the first place, as a self-producing multi-instrumentalist the guy is probably learning his craft by copying good examples of production. Secondly, it's a lot easier to suck in an audience for a YouTube channel with a cover version than it is to do it with original material.

I had hoped for the vinyl to be separately released. I guess I'll have to stick to my Speakers Corner from some years back.

By the way, am I really reading BOTH of those links above correctly, regarding the stand alone 5.1 BLU-RAY Audio, that it is being released by
REAL GONE MUSIC? Could Gordon and company be stepping into the world of "surround" for us???

Make that last YES!!!, a DOUBLE, if true!

Very interesting that this was licensed out to Real Gone. Some other Sony catalog stuff has been done by them too--Essential Eric Andersen, Dave Mason Columbia Years, and now this release. Are they the go-to for "smaller" releases that fall under the Legacy banner? I guess all this means Sony didn't want to join the standalone BluRay scene. Hmm...

Preordered from Amazon as well -- hooray!

This had fallen off my radar until last week, when I checked this thread for the first time in a while to see if I had missed something. Guess I was just a few days early!

Real Gone Music have done a lot of SONY titles lately, even some, what I call, repackages of older collections, so they were already in with them. Possibly, with Audio Fidelity and Marshall out of the picture now, someone possibly tipped Gordon to see if they might be interested in taking A.F.'s lead, with the many titles that they have released via SONY/RCA in Quad? Who knows, we may actually soon see the name Steve Hoffman on a REAL GONE MUSIC reissue and I'm all for that!

From what I've heard from quad experts, for every quad title released, there are two sitting on a shelf unreleased. It would be wonderful if somebody would put them out!

Pyramid, I Robot or Eve in surround for me! "Turn Of A Friendly Card" has never really done it for me, to be honest!

I feel Pyramid definitely has been neglected with regards to reissues. I would love to see this album touched up + extra content!
