    John Larroquette's Twitter:

Harry Anderson. He was wicked smart. He was wicked funny. He had a big laugh. He had a big heart. He delighted in legerdemain especially when he caused someone to scratch their head and proclaim; How the hell did you do that? And he could eat a hamster like no one I ever knew.

Just realized that only the first three seasons of NC that I have are from the DVDs, the rest are from either TV Land or The Biography Channel, not NBC which means they are TV edits.

I saw most of the show on one of the Cable Channels(probably TV Land), and then bought the first 2 Seasons on DVD, but at the time the other seasons were not available. Will have to check to see if they were ever released on DVD, as would be nice to own the complete series. I usually only by a few TV shows I love, but more recent ones(Breaking Bad, Hannibal, The Wire, Rescue Me, The League, Titus and of course my Avatar(SOA Awesome Box Set with a Replica of the Clubhouse Table-think some of the actors wanted the real life one used in the show, but not even Charlie Hunnam could take it with him, but he kept his Bike). Actually, there is one old TV Show, I bought on Blu-Ray about 7-8 years ago, which was The Twilight Zone, as it was always on TV over the December Holidays and seemed to always watch part of those Twilight Zone Marathons).

I wonder why TV (such as Laff) isn't paying tribute to him right now. Maybe they can do a marathon or something.

Showing marathons of Roseanne and That 70s Show on a daily basis seems more important to them these days.

It's really disrespectful that TV refuses to do something about this.

All they care about is showing block marathons and the same old shows.

To be fair, those were 2 Great Sitcoms. Although, watching any episodes of 'That '70s Show' after Sparking Up, had me freaking out that Red was actually yelling at me through the TV screen, calling me a '*******'. Forgot that was another TV Series I bought the Box Set of, as it came in an awesome Stash Box to place the DVDs. I always identified with Hyde being cynical of the world around me, and good with quick witted burns.

  10. Wow sad to hear it. Had no idea he lived in Asheville. He was my favorite actor in Night Court.

    RIP

Harry was unique, how many actors can you think of that incorporated magic in their acting work?

I also notice he did not appear in many movies, he was primarily a television actor, nothing wrong with that.

Back in the day, there was a clear demarcation between "movie actors" and "TV actors". A movie actor could do TV, but a TV actor could not do movies.

It was extremely rare for a TV actor to make a successful transition to movies. George Clooney is the one guy I can think of who jumped to the movie world and never came back.

Still no sign of a tribute from TV yet...

12 episodes doesn't really seem like a marathon though, which reminds me of the time that COZI TV did a marathon of Frasier when John Mahoney died and they called it "Best Of Martin" or something like that. I think that the marathon COZI did had more episodes though.

Johnny Depp and Leonardo Di Caprio also got their start on TV.

Back to Harry Anderson. I was a devoted fan of Night Court from the very first episode. Unfortunately, I haven't followed network sitcoms much in the last few decades so I'm not familiar with what, if any, work Anderson did on TV afterwards. I did follow John Larroquette to his solo show after Night Court ended, but after that ended I lost track of the actors.

Nope. I remember hearing about it though. That was back when I started recording everything on VHS and watching later so I could skip the commercials, so I had to really want to watch a show to record it. I think the Dave Barry connection didn’t interest me enough.
