    I still like "Saturday Night, Sunday Morning" the best. Now THAT's working class! (That should be the title of my new CD compilation). I found "Darling" a little too "Darling" and "A Taste of Honey" was my favorite of the "girl" films. "Georgie Girl" veered for me. Not verite enough.

    Perhaps because it’s about as gritty as milk toast?

    It may date from 1963, but Summer Holiday is more of a throwback to the clean-cut, teen fantasy musicals of the 1950s. It has little in common with the kitchen sink movement that I thought we were discussing here.

    Met Albert Finney in London 1996 he had been buying fruit and veg from a market stall, he was also currently playing in the west end production Art. Mentioned to him I liked his performance in the Dennis Potter tv series Cold Lazarus, Finney told me " I had to do it ".
