• Greed such that a buy-it-now listing for $75 increases the listing price to $95 a few minutes later.
• People too lazy to even take a photo, so they link the image from the rsd website that is watermarked with "support indie record stores"

My mono RSD "Piper" will be delivered to me(by DHL)tomorrow!

It has cost me €30.- plus €3.- postage! I have bought it from a company called "Just for Kicks".I leave the rest up to you.

How many early copies does that make? Will there be any left for brick and mortar stores tomorrow?

How can that website (Just for Kicks) basically take preorders through the 23rd? How many copies can they possibly have?

 

But it´s not only for sale in "physical" stores..?

 

I think that there's only been about 3-4 people claiming to have copies and I think all are from Europe. Perhaps some Euro stores are being a little loose with the rules.

I know my record store got a bunch of RSD stuff on Wednesday and they're holding it all until tomorrow.

Of course, I was joking. I find it amusing that a few people have insisted on bragging that they already have a copy.

 

If I had an early copy, I'd keep my yap shut.

 

I especially wouldn't be talking about it in a thread full of people hoping to get a copy tomorrow.

The outer package looks so cool I actually think about re-using it for another Syd/Floyd album I would design and compile.

 

So when are you gonna get a 3-D printer and start manufacturing these things?

lol. No I mean scanning that liquid light stuff and design another (digital) album cover. Maybe I'll post it somewhere in the forum later.

 

All 3 of the record stores near me will be getting 1 copy each. Think I’ll try the one that doesn’t open till noon.

I hope real fans get copies, and not people who just want to cross off some box on a hipster "to do" list. I hope those people remain allergic to Syd Barrett. Maybe some Davendra Banhart offering will divert their attention.

 

24 copies for sale on Discogs currently (all in Europe). I don't think there will be any shortage of this release.

 

Why would anyone pay $130 for a trashed copy?
