While My Guitar Gently Weeps is great, obviously, but everyone talks about it, and after all, it really isn’t a Beatle guitar solo....

I'll be honest, I don't think of the Beatles when the subject of guitar solos comes up. "While My Guitar...." is the only thing that came to my mind and, like has already been said, it's not really a Beatles solo. Even after seeing some of the mentions in this thread, I'm having a hard time remembering the solos from a lot of these songs. Taxman and Revolution I can hear in my head now, but the rest I'm drawing blanks on.

Well, Revolution doesn’t have a solo!

I think “I Want You” has a very tasty solo by John. I also love his solo on “You Can’t Do That.” I like his playing, even though it’s rudimentary. Paul is also a surprisingly aggressive lead guitarist, and I think his lead on “Good Morning Good Morning” is great. People have already mentioned almost all of my favorite George moments, but I’ll add his solo in “Yer Blues.”

I tend to prefer Paul’s solos. That is not to detract in any way from George (I never tire of listening to most anything he ever recorded, Beatles or otherwise), but there’s just something about Paul’s unique approach (and his tone) that simply pushes all the right buttons for me.

"Fixing a Hole" this short solo is the perfect example of a guitar solo where every note counts.

They're all very, very melodic. I'm not a guitar person so I can't even remember most of them until the time they play in the song, then I can recite them perfectly. Taxman is my favourite though.

Also I just heard Hey Bulldog's again and I bloody love it.

You are correct- it’s Clapton. My bad - I will substitute “You Never Give Me Your Money”

Might as well pick completely different 5 some other time. They’ve done so many great stuff.

There are many great solos on the Star Club and BBC albums to (Sweet Little Sixteen is amazing), and George's playing through the Abbey Road medley is magnificent - it stitches the whole thing together.
