Gravesite of Bobby Vee (Robert Thomas Velline), buried with his wife Karen. Located at St. John The Baptist Parish Cemetery in Collegeville, MN, located on the grounds of St. John's University. It is a beautiful setting situated on a lake. This is not my picture, but I have been there.
John told me his last name had been Mallett (I'm not sure about the spelling, but this was straight from the horse's mouth, not something I read), so his father was a man with that name. John was technically not the last of the Malletts, that would be his twin sister (he has a twin sister, still living as far as I know), but his sister is unable to carry the name forward for the reason that a male heir is needed for that. The fact that guitarist John was not a true Cipollina wasn't some deep dark secret, it's just something that few people outside the family know. I don't remember how it came up in conversation with John, but he told me the story and didn't swear me to secrecy. He wasn't pulling my leg either. It might interest you to know that his Quicksilver bandmate Gary Duncan's real name wasn't Duncan, and it wasn't Grubb (the name he used in pre-Quicksilver band The Brogues) either. Duncan was adopted, so his birth name is unknown. He used the name Gary Cole at one point early on.
not his grave but there is a statue of Jimi Hendricks on Capital Hill in Seattle that people deck out with cigs, beer and flowers

Jimi Hendrix's grave is here, a few blocks from my old house. You'd occasionally see people sitting on it, playing an acoustic guitar. Google Maps
I had the pleasure of visiting 10 years ago, courtesy of a British friend who is also a fan. I left the guitar pick that I had in my wallet...
