Beatles 2014 mono LPs going out of print...*

Just thought that it would be nice to start enjoying the music not looking at how much something is worth.

He happens to be playing a song from the Beatles in Mono box in this photo. It's not in mono however. He was unable to grab a copy. His credit card was rejected, and he didn't appreciate the fact that the box wasn't available in 8-track....His old original eight-track tapes had long since become beyond their expiration date.

 

He made up for it by playing music instead of listening to it.

 

Talk about gouging the neophyte collector

SPLHCB 2014 mono on EBay $175-$200

PPM 2014 mono on EBay $75-$100

 

I’m guilty of delaying the purchase of the box.

Still, these price increases are surprising.

What’s the roll call of online retailers carrying the box? There must be some brick and mortar folks selling at original pricing.

 

Even today, some stores don't sell online. You might have to call around then drive but I'm sure there are some out there.

 

This forum is not known for 'enjoying the music'.

 

I have one of those and it is mono on side 1 and stereo on side 2 and it side one does not sound anywhere near as good as the 2014 version or my 1967 UK pressing. It does sound better than my crappy old Canadian pressing.

 

You are about two weeks too late.

 

This should be a "sticky" on page 1.

 

Music Millennium had some late April / early May dated mono titles in stock this week; White album & Revolver.

 

This has been true pretty much since this thread started. They are the last four titles still available.

 

It looks like Acoustic Sounds is out of the box now.

I have originals so most of the records have never been played in my box. I might be sitting on a gold mine Or not.

 

Glad I bought a complete set of the individual titles from them late last year when they were on sale. I'm keeping those sealed and will play the copies from the box.....or my original UK's on occasion.

 

What surprises me is that popular titles which I bought (Rubber Soul, Revolver etc) Are still available at cheaper prices and the ones I thought would not sell as well (PPM, Hard Days Night etc..) Are the pricey ones. Go figure
