For me if I had to encapsulate Van Halen in one song it would be Everybody Wants Some!!
Ripping guitars, tribal drums , killer bass playing, Dave’s humor. It’s got it all IMO

As odd as it sounds, I'm going with "Growth." Wish it were a full fledged song. I know they used to do it live, but I freaking love it at the end of Women and Children First.

I too feel it's impossible to pick a favorite. The best song overall is probably Everybody Wants Some!!, my favorite deep track is either Atomic Punk or Mean Street, all the singles are great in both eras of the band...but if there had to be one choice I'll cheat and say the entirety of VH I. It's a perfect album start to finish, a great LP mastering and just one of the greatest albums ever made.

Also I'd like to chime in that the best non-album track is Humans Being with no competition. To my ears it's always been one of their best songs, probably my favorite EVH guitar riff, and wish they had cut a whole album that sounded like this. (I also wish there was a 7" somewhere or some version that wasn't so loud.)

Mean Streets because the music sets the perfect atmosphere to the lyrical
    content....

Especially when DLR shouts Lord strike that poor boy down! And the guitarist does his solo part

Summer Nights is near the top for me.

But the top two is probably ”Running with the Devil “ and “Where Have All the Good Times Gone?”

I would agree with Mean Streets. That one just has a great attitude about it.

Eddie himself has called it "Mean Streets", so don't be too tough on anyone! :D

  25. I'm not ashamed to say "Dancing in the Street" (I seem to be an island of 1 on this front, too)
