Musical cheese of the psychedelic variety. Far out!

The Misty Wizards - "It's Love"

In 1967, and only in 1967, every kid wanted to save up and buy a sitar.

Pretty good. Didn't love it but I liked it well enough that I'd listen to it again.

Wait - no one has mentioned "Love is Blue" yet??!! Unforgivable...

Paul Mauriat and his Orchestra - "Love is Blue (L'Amour est Bleu)"

Easy listening doesn't get much groovier than this, man.

Oh, THAT'S "Love Is Blue"? I always heard that song title so I assumed I'd heard it before but I didn't know it was that song. Great single!

    Flower power.

The Seeds - "A Thousand Shadows"

Lead singers don't get much more "snotty" sounding than Ol' Sky Saxon.

    A garage classic!!

The Sparkles - "No Friend of Mine"

One of the punkiest things pre-1970 without a doubt.

Yeah, very heavy for a girl to be singing in 67! I dig it! It's Great!

I probably like Rod Stewart's version a bit more, but the original 1967 version is still very nice:

Pretty good but, yeah, Rod's version is the definitive.

My favorite non-singing, non-jazz, all-instrumental band of '60s released one of their all-time best tracks as a single in 1967:

    Booker T. & The MG's - "Hip Hug Her"

This has been covered many times, but Howard Tate's 1967 rendition is killer:
