I've mentioned this before but Beyond the Blue Horizon by Lou Christie in RAINMAN is sublime.

I liked Demi Lovato's song Confident even more when I heard it in Happy Death Day, which I made a point of seeing twice in the theater. In the context of the movie, that song just seemed even better. Like a feminist anthem of sorts.

"Highway Patrol" by Junior Brown. While I liked the song enough to have it in my collection, it was perfectly used at the opening theme song in the movie Me, Myself, and Irene. It was the perfect opening song for the movie, almost as if it had been written with that movie in mind.

Just about everything used in Goodfellas, from "Rags to Riches" at the beginning to "My Way" at the end.

There really was no way of elevating that music any more for me back then, but hearing it at the end of the mind-blowing experience that seeing "The Matrix" for the first time was, it sure was great and unexpected.

I kinda liked the song before, but this scene from "Donnie Darko" truely elevated "Head Over Heels" for me. Such a perfect combination of film and music.

I was happy to know that Meat Beat Manifesto got a song in there, at quite an pivotal scene, too!

Didn't think anything about Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship until I saw Mannequin.

As already mentioned, Tiny Dancer and In Dreams are now forever linked in my mind to their accompanying scenes, and they are much more meaningful to me because of it.

I also picked up a few odd tunes from Wes Anderson films. "Heres To You" by Joan Baez, for starters.

"Out Of Time" by the Rolling Stones featured in Coming Home. To this day, I can't hear the song without picturing Bruce Dern jogging on the beach.

"California Dreamin'" by The Mamas and the Papas makes me think of the several scenes in Wong Kar-wai's Chungking Express where it's played.

"Me and Bobby McGee", as performed by Janis Joplin takes me back to R. W. Fassbinder's Berlin Alexanderplatz; its epilogue where times and places mix so spectacularly.
