I'm trying to send a record I purchased back. I got the Ok from ebay and they had me print the return label which I did. I packed and shipped the Lp back this morning. I go to the ebay site to let them know I've shipped the item back, they ebay ask for a tracking number which I give as it's the one they provided me on the return shipping label, this is where it gets screwed up and pisses me off I insert in the little box the tracking number so i can show that said item has been shipped and it won't take the tracking number. I've tried three times and each time I get the same response. This is ridiculous I'm getting to the point after 15 years of being on ebay of closing out my account and saying screw it.

    Thanks for letting me vent

 Maybe the tracking number hasn't been scanned by the carrier yet is the only possible reason I can think of.

If the Seller supplied the return label, the tracking number is already in the system and attached to the item.

The way Ebay does it seems screwed up, but eventually it gets straightened out. When the item arrives back at the sellers address, you get notified that it has arrived and how long the Seller has to give you your refund.

If that is your only complaint with Ebay after 15 years you are doing great!

I've found returns have gotten really easy on eBay.

I've not yet tried to return or get refund on an item that says "no returns" in the listing.

That will be the real test. I think eBay and PayPal will get behind me and get me the refund - yet not ask me to return the item (unless it's really a high priced one).

I just bought an item in electronics for $333.00 with no return on it. And it's a vintage item with tons of other faulty units out there. But I'm taking a chance because I like the seller - communication was swift and good. And price was very good. The item goes often for $550 to $1,100. So it's worth a risk I think.

You'll get to return it simply because you're wearing the buyer costume, but I would not bank on keeping the item.

It used to be written into the seller's agreement (might still be). That in some cases, buyer is refunded and item might not be recovered. Yes, right there in the fine print.
