Taken off Hiway 62, heading west. Private ranch land in the foreground. The following three pictures are taken along Last Dollar Road. In the summer, one can follow Last Dollar Road and drive all the way to Telluride. The lone peak, over on the left in the distance, is (drum roll) Lone Cone Peak. It is actually part of the San Juan Mountains, but sits alone. When I drive out to Nucla (for a remote vet clinic), I pass through Norwood, and there is a turn off that one can take to Lone Cone Peak.
something was floating around in the pond. there is a lot of organic things floating around in it so didn't think much of it at first but went to take a look and yup, eggs floating around. frog eggs i assume ? maybe something totally different. don't think it's from aliens though the pond is always loaded with green frogs, some quite big (females, i think) when the weather starts getting better, they begin to show themselves and around may, june,...that's when the concertos begin. really loud, a lot of them, like all day and night for weeks and weeks and weeks... AND I LOVE IT!!! every year when they stop 'singing', i really miss it and each year look forward to hear the first sounds of spring concertos. unlike the neighbours, haha. everyone's got ponds with frogs around here, or the ones in the streams,...so they can't really get annoyed with just these frogs. at least it's natural sounds and not any neighbour with motorised sounds or loud bad music or one of the many flying cities above our heads. all those sounds are constant around here as well i'll get a ticket to the frog concerto any time, thank you!
Definitely frog eggs. I’ve got a couple of MP3 files of croaking frogs (hours long) that I use to zone out on.
first time i've seen them floating around like this though. and i thought it might be very early. but the weather has never been as strange as the last months, even years, but i guess we all have noticed that... oh waw, thought i was thé only one on the planet who does not dislike frog sounds ! *soulmate handwave* enjoy chillaxing to your frog sounds !
I debated your very point but I felt a strange congruence between their apposing but somewhat similar shapes that define how they fit within each of their own unique space and yet connect together by the flow of lines of the one on the left seemingly invading and contrasting against the softness of the static one on the right that I felt looked better as one image in a linear arrangement. I stacked them vertically and the connection between the two was lost. It's 1200 pixels across.
