Can anyone comment on the quality of this series? Are they "No Noised" or anything severe done to them? Thanks David
They were equivalent to the first Capitol Sinatra CD releases in the U.S., mastered by Larry Walsh. I.e., not "No Noised" and generally well regarded. These were the Japanese Capitol CP32 "concept" album releases, which lagged their US counterparts by 2-3 months (a year for the Christmas album): April 1987 CP32 5288 Sinatra's Swingin' Session!!! [and More] (15 tracks; 3 bonus) CP32 5289 Close To You [and More] (15 tracks; 3 bonus) CP32 5290 Songs For Swingin' Lovers! (15 tracks) CP32 5291 In The Wee Small Hours (15 tracks) [abridged]January 1988 CP32 5558 Point Of No Return [and More] (16 tracks; 4 bonus) CP32 5559 Come Dance With Me! [and More] (16 tracks; 4 bonus) CP32 5560 Come Fly With Me [and More] (15 tracks; 3 bonus) CP32 5561 Songs For Young Lovers / Swing Easy! (16 tracks) CP32 5562 Only The Lonely [and More] (14 tracks; 2 bonus)November 1988 CP32 5563 The Christmas Album (14 tracks; 2 bonus)There were also two CP32 compilations in 1988 with no U.S. equivalent: CP32 9022 The Frank Sinatra Collection (20 tracks) CP32 9026 Best Now (20 tracks)
Very old thread, but see here for recent discussion of these early Japanese compact discs: —> Sinatra / Capitol Sound Quality and General Discussion: "Where Are You?" (1957 album)
