  1. Brian Kelly

Brian Kelly 1964-73 rock's best decade

    MY LIST:
    ALL THINGS MUST PASS
    BAND ON THE RUN
    PLASTIC ONO BAND
    RAM
    FLAMING PIE
    RINGO
    IMAGINE
    CLOUD NINE
    TUG OF WAR

    HONORABLE MENTION:
    GEORGE HARRISON
    DOUBLE FANTASY
    MEMORY ALMOST FULL
    LIVING IN THE MATERIAL WORLD
    VENUS AND MARS

Got 7 of the top 10 the same and two of others are in my honorable mention. Personally I think they just put TIME TAKES TIME on there just to be nice to Ringo. Paul alone has 10 albums better than that one.

There's only two: PLASTIC ONO BAND and IMAGINE.

If we're willing to include contemporaneous singles anthologies, add WINGS GREATEST and SHAVED FISH.

If we're ignoring the "Apple Jam" third disc, we can add ALL THINGS MUST PASS. If we're including the singles appended to the CD edition, maybe RINGO.

I'd probably agree with that - would include ATMP with the two John albums. If Double Fantasy was all John that too would be a contender.

I prefer Maybe I’m Amazed, Every Night and Ooh You to anything on Band On Run except 1985 which I love.

In my opinion, the list of Beatles solo albums that aren't great is much shorter. There wouldn't be even 10 albums on that list, and three of them would be the first three John/Yoko albums.

Make sure you have the archive instrumental. tracks of Oo You (Don’t Cry Baby). It completes the album where about half are instrumentals.

Great list. As much as I want to add a few others - Chaos, Walls & Bridges - I have to admit that they're A- or B+ records.

    Ringo

As someone else said, an honourable mention to George Harrison and maybe a couple of post-Wings McCartney releases, but if we're calling these "great" albums, then it's these six.

but, sadly, not on a solo album.

The list is probably Ok. I cannot discuss the Ringo solo records, because I have heard none.

I think "Tug of War" is the most obvious omission.

yes before 1989 i would say there are only :-

    POB
    Imagine
    ATMP
    Ringo
    BOTR

after 1989 Macca has made several decent solo records which could warrant inclusion.
