    My dad,who loved Tennessee Ernie, told a story about a DJ in Texas (probably Waco) who locked himself in the studio and played "16 Tons" all day long. A publicity stunt for sure, but wild stuff at that time in that place.

    Tennessee Ernie Ford's albums were some of the very first my folks bought me around 60-61. Those clips are priceless.

    Ernie could really rock & roll when he wanted to! The Carlisles had a lot of great numbers... I remember one about "what a waste or good corn likker" and "let me go blubber", probably can't air those these days though. :agree:

    That Tennessee Ernie Bear Family Box is the bomb. I pestered them with emails for years before they finally broke down and did it. I pat myself on the back every now and then for it.:)
